One of the most disturbing stories that we find in the Puranas is the story of Krishna's son Samba, whose mother was the bear-princess, Jambavati.

He dupes his father's junior wives by disguising himself as Krishna and is cursed by Krishna that he will suffer from a skin disease that will enable his wives to distinguish father and son. Samba is cured after he builds temples to the sun. All sun temples in India, from Konark in Odisha to Modhera in Gujarat to Markand in Kashmir, are attributed to this son of Krishna.

Samba also attempts to kidnap Duryodhana's daughter and this leads to war between the Kauravas and the Yadavas. Peace is restored, and the marriage is solemnised, only after Balarama, Krishna's elder brother, and Samba's uncle, in a fit of fury threatens to drag Hastinapur into the sea. 

Then there is the story of Samba pretending to be a pregnant woman and duping sages who were visiting Dwaraka. They sages were not amused and cursed Samba that he would give birth to an iron mace that would be responsible for the end of the Yadu clan. 

Must not Krishna's son be as noble and divine and wise and loving as Krishna? But that is not so. Samba comes with his own personality and his own destiny over which Krishna has no influence. Or does he? 

Can we wonder if Samba was a product of his father's neglect? For was not Krishna spending most of his time with Arjuna and the Pandavas and in the politics of Kuru-kshetra?

There are hardly any stories of Krishna as father. He is friend, philosopher and guide to Arjuna, but the only stories of father and son are of tension, rage and violence. 

In conversations about corporations, we often forget about the other half of our lives, the personal one. As more and more people are working 24x7, thanks to Internet, and smart devices, the lines between professional and personal, work and life are getting blurred. In fact, people feel noble when they sacrifice family for work and guilty when they take a holiday to take care of their family. 

Family is not seen as achievement. Children are not seen as purpose. They are seen as obligations, duties, by-products of existence, even collateral damage.  

We admire leaders who sacrifice family for a 'larger' cause. Like freedom fighters who neglect their wives and children. Like business men and entrepreneurs and consultants who spend most of their time in office.

With the rise of feminism, women are also working. Parenting has been outsourced to maids, teachers, computers, videogames and grandparents.

Women who work in the office have not been compensated by their husbands spending more time at home. Instead women are made to feel guilty for not being good mothers. No one questions men for not being good fathers. Eventually, the office wins. Absent parents rationalise how office is more important than the children: we need the money, the children eventually grow up, surely our needs are also important. 

Many great Krishnas in the workplace discover that they have nurtured Samba at home: sons who either follow destructive paths as they seek attention, or sons who make their way away from parents, as they have grown used to not having them around. Who wins?

Corporations were supposed to create wealth for the family. Now families are creating only workers for the corporation. 

We have many more Krishnas in this generation and maybe many Sambas in the next.

I joined job of contract faculty with a Hope to do part time PhD or something else

Last year my contract expired in August. I was informed only 2 days ago  about my contract getting expired 

I don't think joining full time PhD at the age OF 30 is a practical decision

Therefore I decided to search job in industry

I am ready to work at a salary of Rs 15,000

I know getting a job in technical field is difficult  task

Since last year I was teaching students of school but I could not fit in that profession because that kind of teaching requires another skills, knowledge  and training

 *Still If u think my decision is  not practical THEN tell me*

Several decades ago, as students of IIT Delhi, my friends and I used to be insanely *jealous* of Delhi University colleges. Not only did *they had a better female-to-male ratio than us*, their colleges were far more *relaxed if it came to discipline*.

The IITs kept us in the grind. *We had over 40 class tests, quizzes and mid-term tests every semester, all of which counted towards our grade point average. Class attendance was strictly monitored, and sometimes even contributed to our final score*.

Laying on your own death bed and whispering, “I wish…”.

No one knows when their last wake-up will be. Thousands opened their eyes this morning for the last time, and had no idea that this would be their last day. Life is short. Incredibly short. I’m 79, and I honestly have no idea how I got here so fast. It seems like my children were all born just a few years ago. Time seems to pick up speed, and there are no brakes on this ride.

So don’t waste time on stupid things. Anger is stupid. Frustration is stupid. Grudges are stupid. Gossip is stupid. Every single person around you is facing similar difficulties to you. Everyone has fears, anxieties, doubts, needs, regrets. Don’t judge.

Smile. At everyone. Laugh. Reach out. Never hesitate to offer a kind word, hold the door, pick up what someone else dropped, compliment, offer to help. The smallest thing sometimes makes the biggest difference. Always look to “pay it forward”.

Dance in the rain. Hug him/her for no reason. Be silly. Laugh at yourself. Go for a long walk. Listen to the music. Watch the sunrise. Buy a meal for a homeless person. Make a child laugh. This is real life. Not meetings, or schedules, or quotas, or alarm clocks. Those are chores. Things that have to be done, but not what makes life enjoyable. As country singer/actress Dolly Parton said, “Don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.”

Figure out what the one thing is that you fear the most. Then go do it. Not once. Many times. Until it becomes comfortable. That’s what’s called growth.

What’s the one thing you want to do more than any other? Travel? Climb a mountain? Skydive? Sing on stage? Act? Write a novel? Have kids (or adopt)? Scuba dive? Learn to fly a plane? Or tell that one person…I love you? Do it. Just…do it.

अमेरिका में संपत्ति मॉर्टगेज की समस्या के हल के लिए एक छोटा सा कानूनी प्रयास भी बैंकों की लामबंदी के कारण अमेरिकी संसद में इस तरह हारा कि एक सदस्य को कहना पड़ा कि बैंकों ने अमेरिकी कांग्रेस पर कब्जा कर लिया है।

Whatever we are doing in this sadhna session is to stabilize the mind. Now you have made your mind steady here, but preventing it from becoming unsteady when you go outside is your responsibility. If you do not follow the rules laid by Maharishi Patanjali and Maharishi Narad then your mind will again become unstable. 

Doing sadhna is better than doing nothing at all but if you do not follow what they have said then you will become frustrated with doing sadhna in life. You will definitely first drop ‘Sadhna’ , then you will drop, 'this path’, and then finally you will drop Guruji also. If your sadhna is weak then this is going to happen sooner or later. 

Why does this happen? Because you do everything to make your mind steady in the morning, but do not lead the life to maintain it throughout the day.

हम जो कुछ भी इस साधना सत्र में कर रहे हैं, उसका उद्देश्य है मन को स्थिर करना। अब आपने अपने मन को यहाँ स्थिर कर लिया पर बाहर जाकर इसको अस्थिर होने से रोकना आपकी जिम्मेदारी है। अगर आप महर्षि पतंजलि औऱ महर्षि नारद के बताये नियमों का पालन नहीं करेंगे तो आपका मन फिर से अस्थिर हो जायेगा।

कुछ भी नहीं करने से बेहतर हैं के हम कम से कम साधना तो करे पर यदि आप उनके कहे हुए का पालन नहीं करेंगे तो आप जीवन में साधना करने से भी निराश हो जायेंगे। निश्चित तौर पर सबसे पहले आप 'साधना 'छोड़ देंगे, फिर आप 'इस मार्ग' को छोड़ दोगे और अंत में आप गुरूजी को भी छोड़ दोगे। अगर आपकी साधना कमजोर है तो कभी न कभी यह होना ही है।

ऐसा क्यों होता है ? क्योंकि आप सुबह में अपने मन को स्थिर रखने के लिए सब कुछ करते हो पर इसको पूरे दिन स्थिर रखने के हिसाब से जीवन नहीं जीते हो।

I RESPECT OPINION OF OTHERS but few things r  good in certain Limit

I obeyed his advice of  doing yoga and other activities for 40 minutes in a day

Gradually his people told to do yoga for 65 minutes  a day and meditation for 40 minutes a day

I did yoga of 65 minutes a day, continuously for  1 month and felt tired for the whole day

Many a times art of living teachers create fear

They say if you daily do this yoga then a miracle will happen

Krishna had to deal with Arjuna, both emotionally and intellectually. He had to give him emotional support and intellectual clarity. This took some effort, because Arjuna would only go round in his logic. Krishna had to give logic in order to get him out of the logic that he was holding on, and make him realise that there was something more than what he thought was the reality.

Krishna took this challenge and said, "Come on, wake up! Drop the weakness of your emotions." Emotional weakness blinds your vision, blinds your perception. This often happens when somebody is undergoing emotional turmoil. That is when they cannot see anything clearly. They think it's the end of the world. It feels as if everything has crumbled down, life has become a waste, reached a dead end. 

To come out from such a state of mental or emotional turmoil, you need certain wisdom, and you need someone who has the vigour to pull you out of it. That's what Krishna did. He said, "Come on! This is the weakness of your heart. Drop this emotional weakness. Wake up and see what will happen to your reputation?" One thing that can pull you out of emotional weakness is by poking the ego. "Come on! You are crying! Look at who you are! You're the prince. Dont you see, what will people think about you if you sit and cry and run away from the war? Its better to die than to become a disgrace, being blamed by everybody. Are you not ashamed to sit and cry?" Krishna said all these things. At this juncture he didnt tell Arjuna, "Don't be a football of others' opinions." He said, "What will people talk about you? For centuries to come, people will remember you as a coward. Its better to die than to live with dishonour." What is this? This is poking one's  ego. To overcome emotions, emotional flimsiness, if the ego is poked, then the person stands up, and that is what happened.

17/06/18, 11:50 - Shantanu Agrawal: जलवायु परिवर्तन के चलते मौसम का गड़बड़ाता मिजाज, खेती के घाटे का सौदा होने और कथित विकास के लिए जमीन की बढ़ती मांग ने उ.प्र. में खेती-किसानी के लिए बड़ा संकट खड़ा कर दिया हे। इससे केवल देश को अन्न उपलब्ध कराने की क्षमता ही नहीं, कृषि  पर लोगों की निर्भरता भी घटी है। इसके चलते भयंकर पलायन हो रहा है। कहीं विकास के नाम पर तो कही शहरीकरण की चपेट में खेत सिमट रहे हैं , वहीं खेती में लाभ ना देख कर उससे विमुख हो रहे लोगों की संख्या साल-दर-साल बढ़ रही है। यह हाल है देश को सबसे ज्यादा प्रधानमंत्राी व सबसे ज्यादा सांसद देने वाले राज्य उत्तर प्रदेश का। यह दुखद है कि राज्य का किसान दिल्ली या ऐसे ही महानगर में दूसरों की चाकरी करे, गांव की खुली हवा-पानी छोड़ कर महानगर की झुग्गियों में बसे और यह मानने को मजबूर हो जाए कि उसका श्रम किसी पूंजीपति के पास रेहन रख दिया गया है।
