reducing the number of students in coaching classes

SIR / MADAM,

         At present students and parents are under huge pressure because of coaching classes. The pressure is both financial and mental. 

          Due to this kind of pressure more than 60 students committed suicide in past 6 years in Kota, the coaching hub of India. 

In general students of metropolitan cities leave home by 10 a.m. in morning for school, then go to coaching classes and finally return home by 9 p.m. This kind of horrible routine adversely effects health of students. Students commonly join coaching classes for examinations like engineering entrance, medical entrance, civil service examinations, MBA entrance, government banks etc.

           It is very strange that on one hand we talk about creating world class educational institutes and on the other hand we have a parallel or shadow education system of coaching classes.

I think few steps can be taken to reduce the number of students studying in coaching classes. Few suggestions in this direction are listed here:

1.     IIT can give solution of GATE, JEE mains & JEE advanced conducted since the year 2012 on website of JEE.

2.     Similarly IIM, AIIMS, UPSC, CBSE, state public service commissions, state education boards and government banks can also share questions and solution of written examinations conducted by them since the year 2012 on their websites.

3.     IIM, AIIMS, CBSE and IIT can give a List of book titles on their website to prepare for entrance examinations.

4.     UPSC, state public service commissions and government banks can also give a List of study material on their website to prepare for recruitment examinations.

If these steps are taken then Less students will join coaching classes   because they won’t need  coaching classes to get the information that I have requested
